It’s a good week on Ebay and Etsy, if you are looking for race goodies, here they are.

TCR racing set-up
TCR or Total Control Racing is a version of slot car racing that hit in the late 70s and was around through the 80s but TCR had a twist, they were slotless which allowed drivers to change lanes, make passes and block the other racer. Making things even more exciting was the Jam Car, a third car on the track that ran on it’s own. The Jam Car essentially was a moving chicane that allowed racers to use some tactics, usually dirty ones against the other driver.
As a kid I loved slot cars and had a TCR set-up, they sound cooler than they really are because having “total control” was just marketing, you had some control, just not a lot.
This set on Ebay is $275 which is pretty fair as it’s loaded with extra cars and track and it might be a good investment for any racing type hoarder as the value of these sets has been increasing in recent years. Find it here.
Race track art
There are endless types of race track art out there, finding something that is unique and uber cool is far and few in between and then it happens, you find a master piece. KartaTrek makes framed 3D wood maps of F1 and many other circuits. The pics do not do them justice! Recently we ordered one, Interlagos for the new Voodoo World HQ, impressed was an understatement. We are on a first name basis with the FedEx and UPS drivers, they are both knocking on our door every day, we rarely get excited when they do but when the KartaTrek art showed up, we couldn’t open the box fast enough. The detail in the art is simply amazing, we will be ordering more!
Yes, they are a bit expensive at $259 but they ARE worth it! Check them out here.
F1 part
Formula One cars are expensive to build, in the 12.5 million dollar range per car which means each and every part costs a fair bit, front wings range from about $1500-$3000 each, rear wings are in the $150,000 neighborhood. Fair to say that none of us will every own one but you can own a piece of one and carry it with you every day with this ECU mounting stud from a 2006 Honda turned into a keychain for only $20.

Vintage race track toy
Back in the 40s and 50s, wind up, tin toys were the normal, every kid had them of some sort. The cool kids had race cars and race tracks, while being super popular, not many exist today and rarely are they ever this clean. Most came out of France and Germany as the countries rebuilt following WWII, this one is out of Germany and looks to be made by Technofix who had another race track mountain set called Hot Race that is highly desirable. Though this track does not come with cars and the winding mechanism needs some attention it is still and awesome piece.
$91 may seem a little steep but as rare as these are, it is worth it. Want it? You might have to fight us for it here.
